Happy 2012!

Happy New Year everyone! May 2012 bring each of us good health, much happiness and blessings galore.

I made a bracelet for myself on the first day of the new year. It bears my mantra for 2012 and includes some lovely freshwater peacock pearls I picked up on holiday in HK.

Have you been making jewellery too?

Craft Show Take 2

So that Craft Show that didn't happen? Well, it might be happening in February. My co-worker and I had a talk and we decided to just go for it. We agreed that we would do it for the experience and not with the expectation of making lots of sales. Although that would be a bonus. It's a good way of looking at things, I think.

I still have a couple of angel earrings left over from the holidays. Do you think I should sell them at the Show, even though Christmas has come and gone?

Busted beads budget....(how's that for alliteration?)

You know how you tell yourself that you can't spend a single cent more on beads? And then you do? Well, I do this. A lot. I've busted my beads budget about a hundred times over and I still get sucked into buying more. I blame it on the discounts and sales, especially this time of year. Sometimes though, it's just my lack of willpower that's to blame. Someone teach me to resist the lure of pretty beads....please!

Some of the goodies over which I busted my budget:

Aren't they drool-worthy?

Craft Show.....Not!

So. That craft show I said I might be participating in? Doesn't look like it's happening. We now have to pay a fee to rent a booth and my co-worker and I can't quite justify the cost of shelling out all that money in return for very uncertain sales/profits. We'd also have to take leave from work since the Fair starts at 5pm on a Friday and you have to be there early to set up your booth.

I dont know how I feel about this actually. I'm a little disappointed. I'm also a bit relieved as well. I was starting to feel pressured about having enough jewellery on hand. And I must say I also had visions of sitting there and not selling a thing. If I'm being honest with myself, it's a reprieve from having to confront my fear of failure and self-doubt. That little part of me that shies away from the limelight and which thinks what I do isn't good enough is probably doing cartwheels with joy right now. Which, come to think of it, really isn't such a good thing.

What is a good thing is that I made tons of angel earrings. So I'm pretty much set for gifts and stocking fillers come the holidays.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

For stocking-fillers and co-worker gifts. Maybe to be sold at that craft fair I mentioned previously, if we're lucky enough to snag a booth.
